Facebook Ads Conversion Tracking: What to Validate

Meta conversion tracking can involve browser events, server events through Conversions API, platform attribution rules and your own analytics or tracking system. Those layers do not always report identical totals.

Define the event

Use consistent events for leads, purchases and other outcomes. Verify value and currency fields where revenue optimization is involved.

Browser and CAPI events

Server-side events can complement browser events, but duplicate events need matching identifiers so the platform can deduplicate them. A second event path is useful only when it is configured correctly.

Preserve campaign identifiers

UTMs, Meta click identifiers and tracker IDs can support independent reporting. Make sure redirects or cross-domain funnel steps do not remove them.

Expect attribution differences

Meta uses its own attribution rules and modeled data. Your tracker or CRM may use different windows and identity logic. Reconcile around business outcomes rather than forcing every dashboard to match exactly.

TrackingStack editorial standard: product claims and current plan details are attributed to public merchant information where applicable. We do not invent firsthand use, ratings, testimonials or performance results.
